Ashar Aziz / Founder & CEO

Ashar Aziz

Ashar Aziz holds over 20 patents in the areas of networking, network security, and datacenter virtualization. Prior to FireEye, Ashar founded Terraspring, a company focused on datacenter automation and virtualization. Terraspring was successfully acquired by Sun Microsystems in 2002, where Ashar then served as CTO of the company's N1 program. Before Terraspring, Ashar spent twelve years at Sun as a distinguished engineer focused on networking and network security. Ashar holds an S.B. (Scientiae Baccalaureus) in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EECS) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, where he received the UC Regents Fellowship.

Bahman Mahbod / Vice President of Engineering

As vice president of engineering, Bahman is responsible for FireEye's research and development efforts. With over 20 years of solid leadership and management experience, Bahman has dedicated his career to providing enterprise networking and security solutions working with organizations such as Gemini Mobile Technologies, FaceTime Communications, IBM, Sybase and Vantive. Bahman holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.


Marc Maiffret / Chief Security Architect

As chief security architect, Maiffret drives the evolution of FireEye's next-generation modern malware protection technology and further amplifies the company's global security research efforts. Maiffret is a world renowned security expert and entrepreneur. As co-founder and CTO of eEye Digital Security, Maiffret led the overall product strategy and vision for the company. He also led the research team which is credited for discovering critical security vulnerabilities including personally co-discovering the first Microsoft computer worm, CodeRed. Maiffret has spoken at prominent security conferences, and has testified before the U.S. Congress on national cyber security and critical infrastructure protection matters.


Gene Skiba / Vice President of Federal Sector

As vice president of the federal sector, Skiba is responsible for defining and executing the sales strategy for FireEye's malware protection systems within the public sector, military/defense and intelligence markets. Skiba has more than 15 years of experience in telecommunications, networking and security. Prior to joining FireEye, Skiba served as the VP of the U.S. Public Sector at BlueCat Networks and was VP of U.S. government sales and operations at F5 Networks. Skiba has also held various senior positions at eEye Digital Security, within government and international sales at Nortel Networks and Alteon Websystem (acquired by Nortel).


Stuart Staniford / Chief Scientist

As chief scientist, Staniford is responsible for fundamental research and core technology design at FireEye. He brings over 14 years of experience as both a researcher and practitioner in computer intrusion detection. He has written a number of pioneering research papers and served as president of Invicta Consulting, principal scientist at Nevis Networks, and founder of Silicon Defense, a network intrusion detection company. Staniford holds a Ph.D. in Physics and a M.S. in Computer Science & Physics from the University of California, Davis and a B.S. in Mathematical Physics from the University of Sussex, UK.

Zane M. Taylor / Vice President of Operations

Zane Taylor

Zane M. Taylor is vice president of worldwide operations for FireEye, Inc. His over 25 years of experience includes roles as vice president of operations at Citrix Systems and vice president of worldwide operations for NetScaler, Inc. Prior to joining NetScaler, Zane was director of operations at Exodus Communications, where he developed core operational procedures and processes in addition to managing several global systems implementations. Zane has also held senior management positions at Akamba, International Networks Services, and Cisco Systems.
